1. Bienvenida, Agradecimiento a los presentes y los que están conectados.

2. Lema del Año

EL AÑO DE REEDIFICAR Hageo 1:7-8 RVR1960 Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: Meditad sobre vuestros caminos. 8 Subid al monte, y traed madera, y reedificad la casa; y pondré en ella mi voluntad, y seré glorificado, ha dicho Jehová.

REEDIFICANDO MI RELACIÓN CON DIOS 1 Corintios 3:10b-11 RVR1960 “… pero cada uno mire cómo sobreedifica. 11 Porque nadie puede poner otro fundamento que el que está puesto, el cual es Jesucristo. 

4.  Introducción al Mensaje de hoy

1. El mensaje para el día de hoy es  “Sumergidos a Nueva Vida” Romanos 6:3-4  3¿O no sabéis que todos los que hemos sido bautizados en Cristo Jesús, hemos sido bautizados en su muerte? 4 Porque somos sepultados juntamente con él para muerte por el bautismo, a fin de que como Cristo resucitó de los muertos por la gloria del Padre, así también nosotros andemos en vida nueva.

2. En las escrituras hay tres momentos únicos en la vida de Jesús. Su nacimiento, su bautismo y su muerte en la cruz. Pero fue en el bautismo cuando el Padre hizo su más amoroso reconocimiento, cuando audiblemente dijo: “Este es mi Hijo amado, en quien tengo complacencia”. (Mateo 3:17)

3. ¿Por qué es tan importante esa declaración? Sabemos que hasta ese momento Jesús no había hecho milagros. No había resistido a Satanás en el desierto, ni tampoco había sido crucificado y resucitado.                                                                                                                           

4. Esta declaración es sumamente importante porque el Padre la decretó después que Jesús fue bautizado. El Padre audiblemente expresó lo orgulloso que estaba de él.

5. Igualmente, Dios está sumamente orgulloso de todo aquel que se compromete en obedecer el mandato del bautismo, porque a través del bautismo nos identificamos con su hijo Jesús. Hoy estaré compartiendo 3 puntos acerca del bautismo;

1. DESARROLLO 

1. ¿Qué es el Bautismo?

1. Primeramente, el bautismo es un mandato de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.  Mateo 28:19 Por tanto, id, y haced discípulos a todas las naciones, bautizándolos en el nombre del Padre, y del Hijo, y del Espíritu Santo.

2. La palabra bautismo viene de la palabra Griega “Baptizo” que tiene dos significados; 

1. Baptizo significa “Sumergir o Hundir” es por eso que el bautismo cristiano se hace por inmersión, es decir introduciendo a la persona completamente en el agua. 

2. Baptizo también significa “Teñir”, es decir que la persona que se bautiza se “Tiñe” de Cristo, se identifica con Cristo en su muerte, en su sepultura, y en su resurrección.  

Romanos 6:3-5  3 ¿O no sabéis que todos los que hemos sido bautizados en Cristo Jesús, hemos sido bautizados en su muerte? 4 Porque somos sepultados juntamente con él para muerte por el bautismo, a fin de que como Cristo resucitó de los muertos por la gloria del Padre, así también nosotros andemos en vida nueva. 5 Porque si fuimos plantados juntamente con él en la semejanza de su muerte, así también lo seremos en la de su resurrección.

3. El bautismo nos identifica con Cristo en su muerte, sepultura y resurrección. Él  murió y nosotros morimos en él. Él fue sepultado y nosotros con él fuimos sepultados. Él resucitó y nosotros con él resucitamos (Romanos 6:3-5)

4. El bautismo no lo hace un creyente – solo muestra que usted ya ha creído.  

El bautismo no le “salva”, solo la fe en Cristo le salva. El bautismo es como un anillo de matrimonio: es el símbolo exterior de compromiso que ha hecho en su corazón.

2. El Bautismo es un Acto de Obediencia 

El bautismo es un acto de obediencia, pero antes de ser bautizados tenemos que asegurarnos de nuestra salvación a través del perdón de nuestros pecados.  

1. En Mateo capítulo 3 Juan el Bautista rechazo bautizar a muchos fariseos y saduceos por falta de arrepentimiento. Ellos no reconocieron que eran pecadores. Mateo 3:7-8  Al ver él que muchos de los fariseos y de los saduceos venían a su bautismo, les decía: ¡Generación de víboras! ¿Quién os enseñó a huir de la ira venidera? 8 Haced, pues, frutos dignos de arrepentimiento, …”

2. Jesús dijo en Lucas 5:32 No he venido a llamar a justos, sino a pecadores para que se arrepientan.  El arrepentimiento es crucial para la salvación. Antes de que Jesucristo ascendiera al cielo comisionó a sus discípulos y les dijo en Lucas 24:47  “que se predicase en su nombre el arrepentimiento y el perdón de pecados en todas las naciones” 

3. En Hechos 16 el carcelero de Filipos le preguntó a Pablos y a Silas; Señores, ¿qué debo hacer para ser salvo? 31 Ellos dijeron: Cree en el Señor Jesucristo, y serás salvo, tú y tu casa. Hechos 16:30-31

4. El arrepentimiento precede al bautismo. Hechos 2:38 “Arrepiéntase y bautícese cada uno de ustedes en el nombre de Jesucristo para perdón de sus pecados” 

5. Y el bautismo es un acto que comprueba nuestra obediencia y sumisión a Dios. Es un símbolo de ser sepultados con Cristo y resucitados con él; de morir a nuestra vieja manera de vivir y levantarnos para vivir una nueva vida. 

3. El Bautismo es un Acto Público

1. El bautismo de Jesús fue en el río Jordán donde había mucha gente, había fariseos, saduceos, soldados, la gente del pueblo y los discípulos de Juan. 

2. En Hechos 2:41 vemos cómo cerca de tres mil personas se convirtieron y se bautizaron públicamente.

3. Hechos capítulo 16 Cornelio con toda su familia  y sus sirvientes fueron bautizados después de la predicación de Pedro. Hechos 16:33 “… y en seguida se bautizó él con todos los suyos”   Para ellos, el bautismo era un testimonio público de su decisión, una expresión externa de su nueva fe y forma de vida nueva. 

4. Sí aún no te has comprometido a bautizarte, hoy es el perfecto día para hacerlo porque para reedificar tu vida con el Señor es de suma importancia obedecer el mandato del bautismo. 

5. También les animo a que extiendan una invitación a sus familias y amigos porque a través del bautismo estas anunciando públicamente que no te avergüenzas del evangelio, y al mismo tiempo  proveyendo una oportunidad para que escuchen el glorioso evangelio de Cristo y sean salvos.

1. ¿Cuándo debo ser bautizado? 

¡Tan pronto como haya creído! Hechos 2:41 “Aquellos que creyeron fueron bautizados aquel día.”  

No hay razón para posponer su bautizo. Tan pronto usted ha decidido recibir a Cristo en su vida, usted puede y debe ser bautizado. Si espera hasta que sea “perfecto,” nunca se va a sentir lo “suficientemente bien.”

2. ¿Puedo ser bautizado con toda mi familia?

Sí, si cada miembro de la familia entiende completamente el significado del bautismo, y cada uno ha colocado su confianza en Cristo para salvación. Entonces instamos a que las familias sean bautizadas juntas. Pero no se recomienda posponer el bautismo con el interés de esperar a otros miembros de la familia.

3. ¿Qué debo usar para ser bautizado? 

Se debe vestir ropa que cubra todo el cuerpo del candidato al bautismo, de preferencia que no sea ropa que al contacto del agua sea transparente. Se debe traer un cambio de ropa, toalla, un peine o cepillo y una bolsa de plástico para su ropa mojada.  

4. ¿Tendré que decir algo? 

Recibirá instrucciones previas. 

Al principio del servicio, el pastor explicará brevemente el significado del bautismo. Esperará su turno para ser bautizado. El pastor le llamará, le presentará, y brevemente lo sumergirá en el agua. Luego puede salir, secarse, y ver a las demás personas que serán bautizadas. Más tarde se le dará su certificado de bautismo. Le animamos a que invite a sus familiares y amigos.

1. Welcome, thanks to those present and those who are connected.

THE YEAR TO REBUILD Haggai 1:7-8 7 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways. 8 Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build my house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored,” says the Lord.

REBUILDING MY RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD 1 Corinthians 3:10b-11 “…10 But each one should build with care. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 

4.  Introduction to today’s Message

1. The message for today is “Submerged to New Life” Romans 6:3-4  3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

2. In the scriptures there are three unique moments in the life of Jesus. His birth, his baptism and his death on the cross. But it was at baptism that the Father made his most loving acknowledgment, when he audibly said:“This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:17)

3. Why is that declaration so important? We know that until that moment Jesus had not performed miracles. He had not resisted Satan in the desert, nor had he been crucified and resurrected.                                                                                                                          

4. This statement is extremely important because the Father decreed it after Jesus was baptized. The Father audibly expressed how proud he was of him.

5. Likewise, God is extremely proud of everyone who commits to obeying the command of baptism, because through baptism we identify with his son Jesus. Today I will be sharing 3 points about baptism;

II.      APPLICATION

1. What is Baptism?

1. Firstly, baptism is a command from our Lord Jesus Christ. Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

2. The word baptism comes from the Greek word “Baptizo” which has two meanings;

1. Baptizo means “Submerge or Sink” That is why Christian baptism is done by immersion, that is, introducing the person completely into the water.

2. Baptizo also means “Tinged or Stained”, that is, the person who is baptized is “stained” with Christ, is identified with Christ in his death, in his burial, and in his resurrection.

Romans 6:3-5  3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. 5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.

3. Baptism identifies us with Christ in his death, burial and resurrection. He died and we died in him. He was buried and we were buried with him. He was resurrected and we are resurrected with him (Romans 6:3-5)

4. Baptism does not make you a believer – it only shows that you have already believed.

Baptism does not “save” you, only faith in Christ saves you. Baptism is like a wedding ring: it is the outward symbol of the commitment you have made in your heart.

2. Baptism is an Act of Obedience

Baptism is an act of obedience, but before being baptized we must ensure our salvation through the forgiveness of our sins.

1. In Matthew chapter 3 John the Baptist refused to baptize many Pharisees and Sadducees for lack of repentance. They did not recognize that they were sinners. Matthew 3:7-8  7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? 8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.

2. Jesus said in Luke 5:32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.  Repentance is crucial to salvation. Before Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, he commissioned his disciples and told them in Luke 24:47  “that repentance and forgiveness of sins might be preached in his name to all nations.”

3. In Acts 16 The Philippian jailer asked Paul and Silas; Gentlemen, what must I do to be saved? 31 They said: Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your house. Acts 16:30-31

4. Repentance precedes baptism. Acts 2:38 “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

5. Baptism is an act that verifies our obedience and submission to God. Is a symbol of being buried with Christ and resurrected with him; to die to our old way of life and rise to live a new life.

3. Baptism is a Public Act

1. The baptism of Jesus was in the Jordan River where there were many people, there were Pharisees, Sadducees, soldiers, the townspeople and the disciples of John.

2. In Acts 2:41 we see how about three thousand people were converted and publicly baptized.

3. Acts chapter 16 Cornelius with his entire family and his servants were baptized after Peter’s preaching. Acts 16:33 “… and Immediately he was baptized with all his people.”   For them, baptism was a public testimony of their decision, an outward expression of their new faith and new way of life. 

4. If you have not yet committed to being baptized, today is the perfect day to do so because to rebuild your life with the Lord it is of utmost importance to obey the command of baptism.

5. I also encourage you to extend an invitation to your families and friends because through baptism you are publicly announcing that you are not ashamed of the gospel, and at the same time providing an opportunity for them to hear the glorious gospel of Christ and be saved.

III.     CONCLUSION

Questions, Answers

1. When should I be baptized?

As soon as I believed! Acts 2:41“Those who believed were baptized that day.”  

There is no reason to postpone your baptism. As soon as you have decided to receive Christ into your life, you can and should be baptized. If you wait until it is “perfect,” you will never feel “good enough.”

2. Can I be baptized with my entire family?

Yes, if each member of the family fully understands the meaning of baptism, and each has placed his or her trust in Christ for salvation. So we urge that families be baptized together. But it is not recommended to postpone baptism in the interest of waiting for other family members.

3. What should I wear to be baptized?

Clothing must be worn that covers the entire body of the candidate for baptism, preferably not clothing that is transparent when in contact with water. You should bring a change of clothes, a towel, a comb or brush and a plastic bag for your wet clothes.

4. Will I have to say something?

You will receive prior instructions.

At the beginning of the service, the pastor will explain the meaning of baptism. The pastor will present you, and you will be baptized by immersion in water. Later you will be given your baptismal certificate. We encourage you to invite your family and friends.

5. Special needs?

If you have any special needs please let us know in advance. Our Pastors may perform a private baptism in special circumstances.
